Just rambling north to see how far I would get.
Didnt get very far 12 miles lost a return spring off of the rear carb. Limped to the feed store in Stanwood. Found a tiny bungee chord. Kinda worked.

Headed up to Erics. Figure he had a drawer full of carb springs. I guessed right :)

Thx for the idea that a carb spring should be in the car emergency parts kit.

Went to the San Jose Country Club’s annual show and picked up a class win as “Best Foreign.” Nicer show with Porsche, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc. in attendance. Our cars have really picked up a lot respect in the last couple years.

That's fantastic! Congratulations Mr. Baker!
Notice the formal salutation, representative of your new status as a winner in the Country Club set! ;-)

Thanks! I’ve noticed a real uptick in the public’s knowledge about Japanese cars as of late. Haven’t heard the dumb, “MGB copy” comment in quite a while.

The President of the Club was very amiable, and offered me a Fresca after my win.

Baker is hanging with the Captains of industry and future SCOTUS nominees at the country club.
We are lucky he is still hanging with US!

Yep, hanging with the movers and shakers of Silicon Valley. Fear not though! So as not to be mistaken for some “Datsun rube,” I did dress accordingly.

DROVE my 64 1500 to the Local Datsun Club (NWDE) monthly meeting.
Good turnout of about 15 folks, 4 roadsters and 1 510.
We welcomed new local roadster owner Adam,(ahgrafx on 311s) with the orange 67.5.
I think we convinced him not to waste his $ on a hardtop!!

YES, He received much "advice" (education, criticism, harassment, snickering, laughter etc) about the worst mirrors ever seen on a roadster.!!.
Adam agrees and now has to source something decent that will cover the holes!.

We took the roadster and 240 down to the Sammy Hagar High Tide Beach Party in Huntington beach California. Great venue and concert.
