Post by Gizmo »

Hi,

I was supposed to meet other DROPS members for a group drive over Chinook Pass on Mt. Rainier to Wapato and back on I-90 to Seattle area. Got turned around and missed the group.

So, I had a very nice solo 325 mile drive. I recently upgraded my shocks to the Bilsteins offered by Jim Tyler (JT68). Prior to upgrading the shocks my longest drive, in the 2 years my car has been together, was 90 miles. Last month, after the shock upgrade, I did a 200 mile drive with DROPS (Artist Point) and today a solo 300 mile plus drive. The upgraded shocks makes me want to drive my roadster more! (Public thank you to JT68)

APPLE Drive. 10-14-17. 358 miles. COLD and Sunny.
4 DROPS DRIVERS (Jerry missed our meetup but did the drive solo!) DROVE and got Apples.
Please note that all roadsters participated in the correct "roadster way" with tops down. :D
First new snow at Chinook Pass. 5430'.

We drove down to Huntington Beach to pick up Jon Frampton's roadster. It had been entered at the Autocon show at the final Formula Drift event at Irwindale Speedway.
We were kinda bummed when it did not win "Best Classic" which went to an RB25 powered 240Z.. Instead we were shocked when it was announced as "Best in Show

Awesome day! And the fireworks and the drifting were pretty cool too!

PS: no top currently installed, so it was correctly open all day!

Ted.
Um.. Jon has had his roadster for a least a year since we have seen it. We actually met Jon a little after 7 am to pick it up because he likes to go to Donut Derelicts early on Saturdays.. He can be seen there quite often, rolling in with the big smile on his face..

DROVE around Mt Rainier today. 10-16-17. 243 miles.
Amazingly beautiful and warm day in the Mts.
Road to Sunrise was closed from the snowfall late last week. Will not reopen this year.
