Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)

Post by Linda »

I checked out the local Woodland Hills weekly informal car show, not too many cars. Lots of Cobras. Boring.
Then on to Topanga, with its nice slightly twisty road and vistas saved from development, straight to Pacific Coast Hwy, turned right, next stop, Malibu. Very nice, no traffic, no wind and very pleasant temps after the heat we have been having.
Lots of cyclists out for a ride up the coast, one extremely fit guy passes me at a light and yells "Nice car!" Oh yeah.
Continuing thru Malibu, past Trancas, Leo Carillo State park, Pt Dume and thru the farmlands of Camarillo to the freeway for the trip back.
Sunday mornings are the perfect time for a roadster cruise.

Sounds Great Linda!

I like to take PCH from Santa Monica all the way to Carpenteria. Then come home via Lake Casitas, Ojai, Filmore, Simi Valley. It's between 250-300 miles for me round trip from Orange County.

Here's a link to Google Maps of my route. The nice thing about Google Maps is being able to use Street View to preview a route.

Right, Keith, gotta love Google Maps! Well your's sounds like a drive, and mine was more of a cruise, but nice to do before the heat kicks in!

Sounds like a nice ride Linda!
I cruised round and round my Roadster in the garage today. Must have done at least 6 laps. Some day I'm gonna drive it somewhere, really! :-)

Hey Tom,
Anyone who's honest will admit that they at least once sat in their car in the garage and imagined driving it someday....
Keep the faith!

I have the faith, and the hope and the dream!!
Plus, yes, I have sat in the drivers seat and made Vroom, Vroom sounds while shifiting through the gears many, many times.

At least mine was running previously and I have enjoyed many miles of smiles prior to the last 8 years of plotting (and paying) for it's comeback!

Yes, I am a kid at heart, and a Roadster enthusiast at the core!!

Linda,
I also sat in my yellow car ,but it dose not have a steering shaft or wheel.
I did install the rest of the wires to the ignition switch from the fuse box and hot wires to ign. relays. I also installed the ground on the 4 Cylinder coil pack and put a bullet connector on the "in Hot".

Just a few wires everyday. LOL

We cruised down EL Camino Blvd, had dinner with my folks, then went to Santana Row for ice-cream.

I took the roadster to my wifes company picnic, then to Farm and Fleet, Target and the grocery store. You can really cram a lot of stuff in these little cars with the top down and spare tire removed. It was hotter than hot!

I took mine to a Classic Japanese car gathering. It was 110 when I got there and 102 when I drove home in the dark! It was the only Datsun Roadster there and got a lot of attention!

Drove the car back from a body shop for a touch up and drove to Miller Sport Imports in Pasadena for a once over.
