I wanted to remind Kevin why he builds these little cars.. So I loaded him in my car and took him for a ride out into the hills near his house..
Image

On the way back, I made him drive.. So much fun..

Car looks great Michael! When I attended OSU we used to run our cars up Mary's Peak all the time. I had a highly modified PV544, man that was a fun road....

Stopped at the local "land office" on my way to the hardware store. Wasn't open though. :D

Turbo Teds DROVE all day on some of my favorite Eastern WA roads. 5-22-17
Perfect weather. Not too hot, only about 90. 443 miles.

Been too long since she left the garage.
Joined in the SoCal Cycle TT as an "interested observer". ~220 miles per day of primarily backroads twisties, but some good long-legged runs in between technical stages. Out to Ridgecrest, back to LA on Sunday.
Angeles Crest, Wrightwood, Hesperia-Victorville, up 395 to Ridgecrest.
Swung back West on Wednesday. Cycles quicker in mountain traffic, until the roads get any stones or debris, then they get understandably cautious and we go quicker. (a Mad Max looking techno Rambler, '61 Sprite, and myself in the clapped out '69 2000, which no one needs a picture of)
Much fun had by all.

at lunch with the Sprite, Molly Browns, Helendale, CA. Must be a "clapper" filter on that camera, as it has screened out all the rough edges.

This past weekend, I drove from Vancouver, BC to Surrey, BC (and then eventually to Horseshoe Bay, Nanaimo, and Port Alberni), where I met up with Ross Mullen at his shop. Sadly, my car had been broken into while in a parking garage in Vancouver. On the plus side, they were very polite Canadian thieves; instead of slashing the top, they just unsnapped it and got in without damaging anything inside or outside. On the minus side, they made off with my ashtray and about US$2.75 in change, as well as the cigarette lighter that was in the ashtray (I had a USB adapter in the actual lighter receptacle). They also broke the lock on my trunk trying to get into that, but it held. It was going to be pretty tough to continue the road trip with an interior stuffed with luggage if I couldn’t get into my trunk, so on Datsun Dave’s suggestion, I gave Ross Mullen at Sports Imports a call.

Image

Naturally, he had all the parts I needed as well as the magic “get into the trunk through the license plate mounting hole” tool, and he had me back in action in no time, ashtray, lighter, and quick valve adjustment included. We also had a great birthday lunch at a little place around the corner from his warehouse.

All in all, an excellent day in Canada, eh? :)

A few more from the road:
