Oh Lord, don't let Sid see that "complete package" statement, he'll start bringing up all the obscure parts that could of been included throughout the years that you are missing :D

True, should have vetted that through Sid first.

Project now has hydraulics. I guess I can make my own lines after all. My Motive bleeder saved the day and my marriage, made bleeding the systems a piece of cake. One more step to a spring time driver. Pat

A boom mic for the Solexes.

No?

It's the fuel return for the SU's. I'm think I'm going to wait to get rid of that until I get the Solexes all dialed in. I'm not sure what dealers did with that when they converted cars back in the day. I guess it depended on the particular dealer? Anyone know?

Beautiful weekend in Houston, TX

No Datsun drivetime, but made a little progress on SRL311-00529

U20 drivetrain has now been installed in the 2000. Had a nice header for the U20, but found the flange depth of the header was different than the intake. Had a some ugly tabs/weld added to the manifold to try and salvage. Will need to file down the welds, but hopefully it can work.

Otherwise will pickup an alternate exhaust manifold/header.

Nice fuel line routing on the pic Alvin just posted, looks like a good way to avoid the heat from the exhaust. I wonder if the carbs came with the fuel inlet on the left or they were modified. Looking at mine it seems the carb body was cast to have the fuel enter from either side depending on application, just a matter of which side they machined. Anybody know? Mike

Dan, my aftermarket header flange depth was off as well. It didn't clamp down on the intake/exhaust gasket as it should and I had a pretty significant water leak from the journals behind the intake at initial startup. It's fixed now with threaded cap plugs in the holes but was a pain as intake, exhaust manifolds had to come off one more time.

The grill looks nice, did you get it rechromed? How was the cost?

Linda
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Yep - I got it rechromed at Vern's Chrome Plating in Gardena. He did a bunch of chrome for me...taillight housings, headlight rings, door pull handles, other trim pieces and the grille - quite a bit of stuff for $700.00. Did a good job IMHO.
