As a devoted viewer of the original Hawaii-Five-O television series, I can say there were often 311s seen curbside and driving along in traffic as McGarrett and his crew chased crooks around the islands, including Maui.

The series started with a pilot in 1967 and ran through 1980, prime time for sales and popularity of our cars.

Who knows where they've ended up all these years later, but when I got my first 311 in 1976 the TV show had a lot of them in passing.

Fellow SR20 powered roadster nut Dave Jolliff was in Hawaii last week and texted me this photo of what looks like a 69 SRL311 near Lihue:

They are out there Ted!

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

I go and work there at least once a year for 2-3 weeks at a time. Seen a few 510's, a really nice 521 truck and some rusted out 620's but not a single Roadster. They must only come out for special occasions. Make sure you go to Paia Fish Market for Mahi Tacos. You won't be sorry.

There's one in a driveway near Kahala. Ive talked to the guy a few times. My Son spotted it years ago on a trip, and we look for it when we go back.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......
