Friday is kinda a weekend.. Track day at Streets of Willow..

Thursday night, packed the car and put on numbers..
Image

Left the house before 4.. Drivers meeting was at 7..
Image

Started in low intermediate since I had never run this track (except on Gran Turismo). Got bumped up.. Fun times..

Tires had a fun day..lol
Image

Looking at clouds coming over the hills, decided to pack up and head home.. Time to race the rain.
Image

On the road home. Decided to run around the mountains on the desert side to avoid rain..
Image

Image

Almost made it.. 5 miles from home..
Image

A very fun day!

That looks like so much fun. You handled quite a few of those cars handily! Well done. Hard to compete against the turbo models I would think. Still you seemed to stay up with them even after they passed. It was cool hearing the turbo's spool up as they went to pass you. Your car sounds so good, much better than the whine of the turbo's.

In low intermediate, the turbos were impossible to deal with, because it was only passing on straightaway, and they are really fast on the straightaway. Also, in low, they only looked in the mirror on the straights, and since they were pulling away on the long straights, well..

Once I got bumped up, they look everywhere, so if they saw me charging at them through the turns, they would let me go, follow me down a straight, then watch if I pulled away the next lap. Super fun..

Sun was shining, but it was way colder than I expected. Lol hence my top up since I didn't dress appropriately. There are some great roads in Washington. Thanks again Dave for showing me around!

On Sunday Alvin invited me to join him and Rob for a drive out to Uvas and Calero Reservoirs. I'm sure Alvin will be posting a full report.

On Sunday we DROVE our roadsters with Rob and his S30.

We did a nice drive up to Uvas Reservoir and on the way back stopped by Calero reservoir for pictures.

Thanks for coming out Mike!
Your roadster looked awesome, as usual!

Rob's Series-1 Z. We call her Ms. ButterZ and it has one of his old '90's stroked 3.1L engines backed by a ZX 5-speed and Nissan Comp R180 LSD. It sounds fantastic!

It was a beautiful day with spectacular clouds.

Here is a short video, listen for the 240z's triple carb'd induction. The cute park ranger also has some nice words for us at the end :D

Just watched RCMikes latest... Wow, she sounds great! Didn't know you had installed the F1 switch that allows 18,000 rpm  Looked like you hit warp drive there for a moment!
The engine and car have really come together nice... Congrats!
