Richard and Ted's 2015 Solvang Southwest Tour

Richard and Ted's 2015 Fine roadster driving adventure to Solvang and the Southwest.

It is time for the 2015 edition of Richard's USA roadster driving vacation.
We will attend the Solvang Roadster Show and then do a loop through the Southwest before returning to Seattle.
Richard will drive my 68 SR20DET roadster and I will drive my 67 SR20DET roadster.
16 days on the road and we should cover about 6000 miles
and of course Richard wants to see all his 311s roadster friends along the way.
I will post pics and a progress report daily to this thread.
Below is our proposed route and timetable.
If your along the route we would like to stop and visit. We have good roadster stories!
At this stage plans are not firm and can be modified to accommodate visiting.

On 4/22 do you have time to visit Z Car Garage in downtown San Jose? We can take rides in fast cars and even dyno your roadsters! Then you could stay the night at my place.

I would welcome you to stay with me again,but i have one of our old exchange students coming in that night and shes staying all week. I think we should plan a run up to Mt Charleston, Red Rock, Hoover Dam or Valley of Fire. They all have incredible scenery for a photo.

Thanks for all the positive responses to the tour plans.
The planned schedule is working out well.
I will be contacting all those we will be visiting with more details on timing etc.
There is still an opportunity for a visit with the Las Vegas roadster guys, Fish, Brian, Chuck, etc.
Hope we could get together on Sunday night, April 26.
Chuck mentioned a drive, possibly Monday AM.

Here is the latest Tour route and timetable.
Estimated at about 6000 miles.
Thanks to all who are hosting us.
Thanks to Alvin for organizing a visit to the Z Car Garage where
we plan to do dyno runs on both SR20DET conversion roadsters and
should have results to post on the windshields at Solvang.
Most of the trip is filled out except for around Las Vegas on Sunday night and Monday, April 26 and 27.
We would like to firm up visits and a possible drive with the Las Vegas roadster folks.

Looking forward to meeting up with you guys in Vegas. Im not going to make Solvang this year. I guessing my head gasket is bad on the roadster, still pushing water out my radiator from the exhaust pressure.

Ted, we are still planning on the local Datsun group gathering with you for breakfast on Saturday morning on May 2nd. It will be in Mesa at a place called the "Z Cafe". Its a good little place to meet. We are meeting there approx 8:00am.
